Library/Media Center
The goals of the Library/Media Center are to encourage all students to become excited about the wonderful world of books and to become computer literate.
The library/media program teaches students to use library information systems and standard and electronic reference materials to conduct research. The ultimate goal is to help students gain experience in finding information so that they may become self-directed, lifelong learners.
Book Circulation
All students visit the library once per week. Teachers guide students during library visits and encourage self-selection. Library visits extend classroom learning and support curriculum enrichment activities.
The library maintains a new book collection with a fully automated circulation system. A variety of reading materials guarantees every child access to books they will love.
Students must have a signed parent permission slip on file in the library to check out books. Library books may be checked out for one week and may be renewed. When a student has an overdue library book, s/he may not check out a new book until the book is returned or a replacement fee is paid.
Birthday Books
Parents, relatives or friends may donate a book to the library in honor of a child's birthday. This book will contain a special bookplate with the honoree's name inscribed on it. This is a wonderful way for the community to become involved in helping the library grow. Questions regarding Birthday Books may be directed to the library staff.
