Dear E.B. Scripps Elementary Families, Staff, and Community,

It is with tremendous excitement and gratitude that I introduce myself as the next Principal of E.B. Scripps Elementary School. I am beyond excited to once again call EBS home.

Many of you may remember that I previously served as the Assistant Principal at E.B. Scripps from 2013 to 2017. Those four years were some of the most meaningful and rewarding years of my career, and ever since leaving, I have always felt a strong connection to the Scripps Ranch community. E.B. Scripps has always held a special place in my heart, and I am honored to have the opportunity to return and serve this incredible school community once again.

During my time at EBS, I was continually inspired by the school's exceptional culture. It is a place where educators are deeply committed to their students, families are actively engaged in the life of the school, and students are motivated to learn, grow, and succeed. The strong partnerships between staff, students, and families create something truly special, and I have always viewed E.B. Scripps as a model for what a great school community can be.

Of course, much of that culture is a reflection of the outstanding leadership of Ms. Liz Sloan. Liz has been a mentor, colleague, and friend to me throughout my career. Her dedication to students, commitment to excellence, and ability to build meaningful relationships have left a lasting impact on E.B. Scripps and the entire Scripps Ranch community. The positive culture she helped create is evident the moment you walk onto campus. Liz's legacy will continue to be felt for years to come, and I know I speak for many when I say that she will always be a beloved member of the EBS family. I am hopeful that she remains connected to our community and that we will continue to see her often.

As I step into this role, I do so with great respect for the foundation that has been built and excitement for what lies ahead. It is my honor to continue the work that Liz began and to serve as a visible, energetic, and positive leader. My focus will always be on building strong relationships, working alongside our talented educators, supporting our students, and partnering with our families to ensure every child thrives academically, socially, and emotionally.

I am incredibly grateful to the San Diego Unified School District and the E.B. Scripps community for placing their trust in me. Being selected as the next principal of EBS is both humbling and deeply meaningful. I do not take this responsibility lightly. I understand the pride this community has in its school, and I am committed to honoring that tradition while continuing to move our school forward.

I bring a deep belief in the potential of every student, a commitment to collaboration, and a passion for creating a positive school culture where both children and adults can thrive. I will work tirelessly alongside our staff and families to continue the excellence that E.B. Scripps is known for. Together, we will celebrate successes, embrace opportunities for growth, and ensure that every student receives the outstanding educational experience they deserve.

I’m looking forward to reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting new families, and beginning this exciting journey together! Thank you for welcoming me back to a place that has always felt like home. I am truly honored to be your Principal and look forward to serving the E.B. Scripps community for years to come.
