Hello Room 212 Families and welcome to EBS!!
My name is Sue Hammond and I am happy to introduce myself as one of our school's kindergarten teachers. We have an amazing team of teachers and staff here at EBS, and I know you and your kindergarten student will love it! I have been teaching at EBS since 2015, and teaching in San Diego since 1999. I really love teaching kindergarten because the students are so eager to learn and it's incredible to see how much they grow and progress throughout the year.
This year I look forward to getting to know each student in my class so I can provide the best teaching and learning experiences for them. I believe we thrive in environments that feel safe enough to take risks and make mistakes, but that are also fun, silly, and dynamic. In kindergarten students will make new friends and practice social skills, learn independence in new areas, and hopefully become lifelong readers, writers, scientists, and mathematicians!
I have two daughters and we enjoy going to the beach, hiking, picnicking and camping. We really love doing anything outdoors where we can see plants and animals. I cherish spending time with my family and friends- eating, playing games, watching movies and visiting new places.
I feel honored each year to have parents place their children in my care. While I may only see them during school hours, your children remain in my thoughts well beyond the work day. I can't wait to get started and meet you all- we're going to have a great year!
Sincerely,
Sue Hammond
