Dear EBS Families,
It is an absolute joy to be here at this school as one of our 5th grade teachers.
I came to EBS in 2006, bringing with me a broad background in education: teaching Math and Language Arts in Middle School, moving that knowledge on to teacher colleagues as a Resource Teacher in Elementary School, and continuing to a wonderful period of time as a Content Administrator in the High School. Along the way I loved continuing my own education, finishing my Math Specialist Certification, Masters Degree in Gifted Education, Administrative Credential, and Doctorate in Education.
My story in education began before that, however. Our own children all went to schools in Scripps Ranch. It was in one of the windowless back rooms of Jerebek Elementary School that I was inspired to go into teaching. Imagine that! As a parent volunteer, I worked with small groups of students. I developed a love for working with the teachers and students within the school to enhance and grow each student's learning. We transferred to Dingeman Elementary when it opened, and it was there that I set my goal to work in education. I wrote a grant to fund a science program, to enhance the lessons given in class, and shortly after that I began my formal career path in education.
It has been, and continues to be a wonderful journey. Every year brings a new focus to teaching and learning as knowledge about the learning process expands and changes. I pull from my own prior knowledge and current trends to work toward building the best possible experience for all my students. It is a joy to be here at EBS to be working with my colleagues, our students and their families to make each year as great a year as possible.
